Johnny does a lot for charity, he just doesn't shout about it. Just because he is weathly doesn't mean he doesn't give to the needy. We shouldn't assume.
He has given extensively to the LA children's hospital that takes in kids from all over the world who are suffering from terminal illness but can't afford healthcare. The person who posted that he should do more for others should know what their talking about first. He was even given some sort of award for his charitable contributions to children. He's also been active in the make-a-wish foundation for almost 20 years now - since his 21 jump street days.
Ok, I perused the comment about helping others. Not all help has to be monetary. Giving from the heart is important too. There are many ways to give. Look into your soul, give time to a Soup Kitchen, Volunteer at a Hospital or Hospice.
Read a story to someone, talk with them, I've been there and helped in shelters. Giving of yourself helps more than you'll ever know. We don't have to be rich or famous ~ we can all give time. Never assume what another person does, look at what you can do.
I'm not trying to make waves, I have been around the block a time or two and I'll tell you when I was young and a mother I didn't think I had time to give to anything else. I found out different as my children grew. You don't have to give time every day. Give what you can, where you can.

I love Johnny and his work, and I think he is one of the most devoted family men I know of in the celebrity world, but I wish he and others who have the means would have as much compassion on those who love their children as much, but are unable to see them thrive and blossom due to poverty, hunger and circumstances beyond their control. There are so many millions of children and families suffering immensely harsh circumstances with seemingly no way out while others on the planet live without a financial worry or care. They spoil their children with every luxury under the sun, own huge opulent mansions and estates (not just one, but several mansions) unnecessarily, own only the most luxurious of everything, live like kings and queens, and squander huge sums of money while other humans suffer. I know Johnny does some philanthropic work and contributes to the childrens' hospital, but does he really need a manion in LA, a villa estate in France, a luxury penthouse in LA, an entire Carribean island, and God knows what else? How many places can one family occupy? Think about only the upkeep and staff for such places. That sum alone could feed, clothe, provide medical care and livable conditions to thousands of truly deserving and needy children. Don't they deserve to have at least a moderately livable life? Johnny isn't the only wealthy celeb or just wealthy person in general I'm pinpointing, I just happened to feel like expressing this on this article, for some reason. These people express so much self-indulgence and greed that it makes me depressed and sad; my heart mourns for the downtrodden and suffering, but I, myself, am in hand-to-mouth circumstances and unable to help them. I only wish with all my heart I could somehow obtain only a fraction of the financial means of many of these people and I would be able to make a miraculous difference in many lives (even within my own family). To give to those who suffer needlessly, to enable a bright young student or artist who might be a brilliant contributor to society to persue his dream without the crushing weight of tremendous student loans with outrageous interest rates, to help an elderly person afford their medication or have a comfortable place to live without fear or worry----that is the true sign of the caliber and character of a person. This, I would love to do more than anything. I only wish more of them felt the same.
