Well put, Robert. Hypocrisy is the Hollywood way, it seems. Look at any of the multi-millionaire moguls in Tinsel Town who deserted Mel after his 'time of imperfection'. Were their dollars generated by perfectly disambiguous productions that became huge hits because they were wholesome, non-political and free of discontent for any group or groups of people? Are we to believe that the very people who tried to torpedo Mr. Gibson's career are self actualized and beyond reproach? They never slurred anyone, said anything completely inappropriate, never called anyone a bad name after a night of drinking? They never touched a starlet in the wrong place, never denied a black man a role, never made a racist remark? Thank God lightning bolts don't actually strike liars.
Downey's drug problems are well documented. But, like Mel Gibson, his personal escapades don't tarnish the brilliance of his acting. He is a trmendous talent, and I would entrust any role to him without reservation.
I applaud Robert Downey for standing firm.

You always spoke your mind, that's why I have always loved you problems and all. You slip a little and everybody becomes moralistic on you, yeah! he was just having a bad night and lets leave it at that. Thanks for sticking by your friend. MY admiration went several dezebel.
